OUR MISSION

To create and support signature programs and activities that motivate young people to remain focused on their educational and professional goals and encourage all citizens to be actively involved in their communities. Through these ventures, the Foundation strives to create outlets that promote and reward academic excellence, leadership development and positive behavior. Overall, the mission of the Kevin Mathis Foundation is to enrich lives and build communities while demonstrating how giving back proves that one person can make a difference.

OUR BACKGROUND

The Kevin Mathis Foundation supports both youth empowerment and community enrichment initiatives. Annual fundraising events enable signficant contributions to such worthwhile organizations as Cooke County Friends of the Family, Gainesville High School Football and Baksetball programs, and the Cooke County Youth Center (Boys & Girls Club). Additionally, the Kevin Mathis "Stay-Focused" Scholarship awards several thousand dollars to deserving college-bound Gainesville High School seniors who have shown determination, commitment & focus in achieving their goals--similar character traits to those in which Kevin attributes to his professional success. The Kevin Mathis Foundation has received overwhelming support from Kevin's peers including all-star athletes Deion Sanders, Michael Irvin, DeAngelo Hall, Randall Godfrey, Omar Stoutmire, Ray Mickens, Larry Brown, Allen Rossum, and Raghib "Rocket" Ismail.
