As Kevin has always believed in the principles of hard work, faith, commitment and staying focused on one’s goals in order to achieve them, it is Kevin’s desire that others realize their own potential to reach their goals through the application of these same principles. The foundation supports both youth empowerment and community enrichment initiatives. Annual fundraising events, such as the Celebrity Basketball/Golf Classic, enable us to make significant contributions to such worthwhile organizations as Cooke County Friends of the Family, Gainesville High School Football and Basketball programs and the Cooke County Youth Center (Boys & Girls Club). Additionally, the Kevin Mathis “Stay Focused” Scholarship annually awards several thousand dollars to deserving college-bound seniors at Gainesville High School (Texas). In 2006, the scholarship expanded to provide academic assistance to graduating seniors in the D/FW Metroplex and Atlanta’s Carver High School.

The Kevin Mathis Foundation has received overwhelming support from his peers. In fact, this year’s event has confirmed participation from numerous all-star athletes including Deion Sanders, Michael Irvin, DeAngelo Hall, Warrick Dunn, Randall Godfrey, Omar Stoutmire, Allen Rossum, Sammy Knight, Larry Brown, Keion Carpenter, Ray Mickens, Raghib “Rocket” Ismail and more.
